THE Best Black Out Curtains

We recently installed curtains in our bedroom. Yes, we had blinds already, but they didn’t really block the light. I wanted something that looked cute and nice but would also do an amazing job blocking out the sunlight since I love sleeping in 😴🛏

I looked at a ton of curtains online and finally decided on these from Amazon. Here are the 5 reasons why these are THE BEST Blackout Curtains and why everyone needs them!

These Curtains block 99% of light.  Yes, you assume that any “black out curtain” blocks light. But not all black out Curtains are created equal! Trust me, I have experience with other black out Curtains that still allow light to come through. But with these Blackout Curtains from Amazon, no light comes through! Your room can be as dark as night anytime of the day. This is perfect for sleeping in, naps, and blocking out street lights in subdivisions. Here is a picture to show how much light these block. I accidentally slept in until 10:30 AM the other day because I thought it was still dark outside!

As you can see, it’s super bright outside, but no light comes through the closed curtain at all!

2) Energy Efficient

10-25% percent of thermal energy is lost through windows. Black out curtains not only block the light, but also block heat and cold from coming in through the windows! This can drastically reduce energy bills in both the summer and winter season. We have only placed these curtains in one room upstairs so far and we have already noticed the AC kicking on less throughout the day, and the temperature feels cooler inside!

These curtains from Amazon come in 16 different colors! Curtains can really tie the decor of any room together and brighten up dull walls. Also, depending on how you hang the curtains, you can also make windows and ceiling look taller which makes the room open up and seem bigger! We chose the "dove gray" color to tie in our dark furniture and light gray tones on our bedding.

Another thing I love are that these curtains are colored on BOTH sides unlike a lot of black out curtains which have a thick white material on the inside to block out light. These curtains are also super well made and machine washable!

4) Media Watching

These curtains can turn any room into a media room. I pulled a TV into our bedroom to show how it eliminates any glare on the TV and darkens any room to "movie theater" status!

5) Noise Reduction

These curtains have three layers which help to create a buffer for not only light, but also noise coming in though the window. We have a road and construction right across from our window. Construction starts before 5 AM every morning... This was waking us up super early and was really distracting when my husband was trying to work from home.
