Vanilla Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

Here is a recipe I want to share for my Vanilla Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting! We recently hosted my family for my Mom’s birthday, and I wanted to make an extra special cake 🎂 So, I picked my favorite parts from different Bundt cakes I had baked and created a new one!😋

Here are the Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  1. 3 Cups Flour
  2. 1/2 Tsp Salt
  3. 3 Tsp Baking Powder
  4. 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
  5. 2 Tsp Vanilla
  6. 2 Cups Milk
  7. 1 Cup Sour Cream
  8. 1/2 Brick Cream Cheese
  9. 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
  10. 1 Cup Butter, softened
  11. 3 eggs
  12. 2 1/2 Cups White Sugar

For The Frosting:

  1. 3 Cups Powdered Sugar
  2. 1 Brick Cream Cheese
  3. 2 Tbs Butter
  4. 1 Tsp Vanilla

Directions For The Cake:

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2) Mix Dry Ingredients

Mix flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder in large bowl with a spoon, and then set to the side.

3) Cream Butter and Sugar

Soften the butter in the microwave and then put it in the mixer. Next, mix the butter on medium speed until whipped.

Then, add the sugar slowly, then turn the mixer to high speed so that the sugar and the butter cream together and look like this.

4)Add the Eggs

Add each egg one at a time with the mixer on medium speed.

Then continue to mix on medium for 2 minutes until it looks like this.

5)Add the Sour Cream, Cream Cheese, and Vanilla

Turn the mixer down a little bit and add the sour cream, cream cheese, then vanilla.
Then allow this to mix on medium speed for 1-2 minutes.

6)Add the Milk and Dry Ingredients

Alternate between adding small amounts of the dry ingredient mix and the milk on medium speed.

Continue to do this until all most dry ingredients and all the milk are combined in the batter (set aside a small amount of the dry ingredients for the next step).

Continue to mix this for 1 minute.

7)Add Chocolate Chips!

Grab the small amount of dry ingredients that were set aside from the last step and pour the chocolate chips in.

Gently mix them together so that the chocolate chips are coated with the dry ingredients.
This prevents the chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom of the batter while baking.

Once the chocolate chips are coated, pour them into the batter and use a spatula to gently stir them in.

8) Time to Pour the Batter in the Pan

Coat the cake pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Pour the batter into the pan slowly, making sure to evenly pour it.

Even out the top of the batter in the pan with a spatula so that it cooks evenly.

9) Bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes.

Directions For The Frosting:

1) Mix Butter

Soften the butter in the microwave and then add it to the mixer and mix on a low speed.

2) Add Cream Cheese and Vanilla

3) Add Powdered Sugar

4) Mix on High for 2 Minutes

Once all the ingredients are in, increase the speed to high and mix for 2 minutes until everything is whipped and a frosting consistency.

When The Timer Goes Off...

Once the cake has baked for 45 minutes, pull out the oven rack and insert a clean knife into the cake. If it comes out clean, it is done! If it does not come out clean, put the cake back in the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.

After the Cake is Done Baking

Take the cake out of the oven to cool for 20 minutes.

Then flip the bundt pan over on a flat surface.

Remove the pan from the cake.

Frosting the Cake

Once the cake is right side up on a flat surface, pan removed, it is time for frosting!

I start by pouring large amounts of frosting onto the top of the cake into a few different areas.

Then I get a knife and start spreading the piles of frosting around the cake working my way to the bottom.

I also make sure to coat the inside circle of the cake.

All Done!

And now that it is frosted, the cake is done and ready for eating 😊❤️🍰🎂
