In celebration of Fall and Halloween, I thought I would make some Chocolate Halloween Cookies! Here is my recipe with steps on how to bake them. At the bottom of this post is a shortened recipe with picture to screenshot 🎃👻
I also made a video to walk you through it:
Ingredients:
1 Cup Crisco
2 Cups Sugar
4 Eggs
1/2 Cup Milk
4 Cups Flour
1 1/2 Tsps Baking Powder
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
Chocolate Chips
Reese's Pieces
Directions
Start by making the chocolate mixture which will be added to the cookie dough later. On the stove heat the milk and add the cocoa powder. Stir until this is fully mixed and warm. Then set aside to cool.
Next, add the crisco and sugar into the bowl of an electric mixer and cream together
Add the eggs and continue to mix
Then add the flour slowly
After that, add the cooled chocolate mixture and the vanilla and continue to mix
Next, add the salt and baking powder then continue to mix until everything is combined and you can't see any dry ingredients
Then stop the mixer and add a few handfuls of chocolate chips and Reese's Pieces. Turn the mixer onto the "stir" speed to slowly stir these in.
Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour. This makes it easier to roll the dough into balls.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Roll the chilled dough into 1 inch diameter balls and place on cookie sheet. I place 4 rows of 4 cookie dough balls. I then add 3 more Reese's Pieces to the top of each ball.
Bake these for 6-8 minutes then allow to cool before enjoying!
